Committed to preserving the environment while delivering timeless natural stone solutions.
Calculate the carbon footprint of your stone project
At Denfind Stone, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do – from responsible quarrying to reprocessing materials, minimising waste, and delivering low-carbon, eco-friendly solutions for future-focused construction projects.
We are deeply committed to protecting and preserving the natural environment, both at our quarry and beyond.
Denfind Stone uses sustainable quarrying techniques, prioritising efficient material use, local supply chains, and restoring quarry sites with tree planting and landscaping to minimise environmental impact and preserve natural spaces.
Our purpose-built facility utilises advanced technology to optimise energy use, reducing our carbon footprint while ensuring the sustainable processing of high-quality Angus sandstone.
By sourcing and delivering stone locally, we significantly cut transportation emissions, contributing to cleaner air and a more sustainable supply chain.
We maximise resource efficiency by reprocessing stone offcuts and demolition materials, turning them into valuable products, reducing waste, and supporting eco-friendly construction practices.
Our production facilities use an innovative LEV system to capture silica dust at the source, ensuring no dust escapes into the environment. Its effectiveness is continuously monitored for optimal performance.
The Monikie site advances towards carbon neutrality with solar panels, biomass heating, self-generated oxygen, on-site power for vehicles, and quarry waste repurposed into building and landscaping materials.
The Angus sandstone at Denfind Stone boasts one of the lowest embodied greenhouse gas emissions for dimensional stone. This is due to our quarry’s proximity to processing sheds, renewable energy usage, and tree-planting initiatives.
Compared to man-made materials, natural stone has significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions, making Angus sandstone an environmentally responsible choice for any project. Use the Historic Environment Scotland Stone Carbon Calculator to measure the minimal emissions associated with our products.
Denfind Stone combines traditional quality with modern sustainability, ensuring a greener future while respecting the geological heritage of Angus sandstone through environmentally friendly production from quarry to delivery.

GOAL
To regenerate the old quarry, preventing its use as landfill, and restore it through tree planting, seeding, and landscaping.
OUTCOME
The old quarry has been transformed into a thriving natural space, blending seamlessly with the environment and supporting local biodiversity.
Denfind is deeply committed to protecting and preserving the natural environment, both at our quarry and beyond.
Denfind Stone’s location is vital; our processing facility is built close to the quarry, reducing energy use and ensuring environmentally efficient stone transport to the machinery.
